How to Add a Button to the Header in Squarespace

Want to highlight something important—like a donation link or booking page—right in your header? Adding a button is a great way to draw attention. Here's how to do it in just a few steps:

1. Enter Site Header Settings

From the main Squarespace editor, hover over your header until a blue outline appears around it. Then click the Edit Site Header button (the small circular pencil icon in the top-right corner of your header).

2. Add a Button Element

A panel will appear on the left side titled “Add Elements.”

From this menu:

  • Find the option labeled Button (as highlighted in your screenshot).

  • Toggle it on (green switch).

  • Once enabled, a new button will appear in your header area.

3. Customize the Button

Click on the new button in your header to:

  • Rename the button (e.g., “Donate,” “Book Now,” “Learn More”).

  • Link it to a specific page, section, external URL, or even an email address.
